Extremely cold weather polar vortex hits parts of North America with a third of the US, ninety million people, have experienced-17C (0F) or below temperature, while 21 people are reported dead in one of the worst cold snaps in decades.

Almost 250 million Americans have experienced the extreme cold conditions with hospitals full of patients having frostbite. Forecasters are hopeful the temperature will swing to average in next few days.
The cold spell particularly affected the homeless people and government has set up warming shelters for them. However, some people are still fighting against the freezing conditions. A sixty years old woman’s dead body also discovered in an abandoned house in Lorain, Ohio.
According to a hospital, almost 50 patients shifted here for frostbite with half of them reported homeless people while others left their home for jobs.
A Michigan man froze to death due to the inadequate dressing while another man found dead in a garage in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dangerous roads also caused the deaths as a man fatally hit by a snow plough near Chicago. A 22-year-old police officer and his wife killed in a crash on icy roads at northern Indiana.
The icy weather will minimize its grip on Friday. A National Weather Service forecaster, David Hamrick reported that they expected “at least a 60-degree swing for Chicago” at the end of the weekend.
