Huawei has terminated an employee Wang Weijing after Poland security services have arrested him for spying.
Huawei said that the incident has brought Huawei into disrepute.
Chinese telecoms company Huawei has said in a statement that man’s personal act brought the company into disrepute. Poland security services also detained a former member of its intelligence service on spying charges.
Nowadays, the US and other countries show their concerns that China’s security services are using Huawei technology for spying. However, China and the company itself rejected the claims.
Earlier, its founder’s daughter and its chief financial officer also arrested in Canada last month. She has to face deportation to the US on accusations of breaking Iran sanctions.
Poland security services arrested the two individuals following a lengthy investigation. LinkedIn profile of Mr. Wang shows him a sales director at the firm who has also served as a diplomat from 2006-11at China’s embassy in Poland.
Huawei’s statement said that they made the decision “in accordance with the terms and conditions of Huawei’s labor contract because the incident has brought Huawei into disrepute”.
The statement further added that it obeys with all relevant “laws and regulations in the countries where it operates, and we require every employee to abide by the laws and regulations in the countries where they are based”. The search operation also extended to the residence of both men’s homes for the investigation.
