The open-source video player app, VLC is going to announce a couple of very big milestones from CES today. Videolan, the development team, together with one of the lead developers, Jean-Baptiste Kempf, declared at CES that it is going to add AirPlay support, enabling its users to transfer videos from their iPhone (or Android) to their Apple TV.
The update may perhaps come for the primary VLC app in maybe a month free of cost. On the other hand, VLC has declared that no particular release date was yet specified.
The next big step for VLC is that it is going to end up on 3 billion user downloads. That is too much downloads, and you are able to squabble that the Videolan team is worthy of the success which they have seen until now. In the end, this is going to come out as if the Videolan team was busy, later than adding Chromecast support to VLC the previous February.
