Logo of Electoral Commission Ghana
Executive of the Electoral Commission (EC), Mrs Jean Adukwei Mensa, has uncovered that the inversion of the Commission’s logo to the nation’s emblem and a polling station demonstrating the hand making its choice expense about GH¢16,000.
The Commission on December 4, 2018, dumped the multi-shaded logo which was supported by its quick past executive, Mrs Charlotte Osei. As per the EC the choice to invert to the old logo was on the grounds that it delineated the guiding principle of the Commission, in particular respectability, Decency and Responsibility. Following the rebuilding, segments of the general population raised worries over the cost included. However, Mrs Mensah guaranteed that very little changes would be made at the workplaces of the Commission.
‘It’s important to note that it’s not a branding exercise. The old structures of the Commission still bear the logo and therefore the only change that has come up is change in letterheads and that has cost… I think it’s been well below GH¢16,000.’
Mrs Mensah likewise expressed that she has gotten positive criticism since the rebuilding of the Commission’s old logo.
Talking on another stage, Mrs Mensa said her arrangement as Director of the EC came as a wonderful shock.
She expressed, in any case, that she believed she had taken a wrong choice to acknowledge the arrangement since she was headed for her Vacation leave when she had a call from the administration.
