In order to install new movable wire-topped barriers, the US has briefly shut its busiest border crossing with Mexico.

Northbound traffic and half of the pedestrian crossings at the San Ysidro has closed for security purposes. The crossing helps around 110,000 people to enter in the US daily.
The inhabitants of Mexican border city of Tijuana held demonstrations with demands about the migrants to leave the area.
According to Mayor Juan Manuel Gastelum, the number of migrants arriving in the coming weeks could reach 10,000. He further warned that the city is not ready to handle the avalanche.
The persecution, poverty, and violence in Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador are the core reasons for migration. Another migrant convoy also heads out from El Salvador for the US on Sunday.

US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has reopened many closed ways at San Ysidro.
San Ysidro is the busiest border for entrance into the US. About 40,000 cars traveled between Tijuana and San Diego every day.
US President Donald Trump described migrant convoy as an ‘invasion’ and has positioned thousands of US troops there.
He further wrote on Twitter on Sunday that we are ‘ill-prepared’ for the refugees and ‘will not stand for it’.
