It has been reported on Monday that Apple Inc has requested its smartphone assemblers, namely Pegatron and Foxconn to close down their plans for some further production lines offered to the iPhone XR that has been presented just last month.
Apple had also inquired Wistron, that is basically a smaller iPhone assembler, to supply in case of rush orders, but the company is not going to get any further orders for the iPhone XR this time of the year, the report has stated, quoting supply chain sources.
A source has been quoted as saying that talking about the Foxconn side, it has initially got ready about 60 assembly lines for Apple´s XR model, but in fresh time, it just uses about 45 production lines as its top customer has declared that it is not required to make that many by now.
