Sylvester Mensah, a National Democratic Congress presidential hopefully and former Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority, NHIA, says his mission to lead the NDC in the 2020 polls is borne out of the incapability of the NPP government to follow sustainable policies in ameliorating the troubles of Ghanaians. According to Sylvester Mensah, Ghanaians need change in the management of the economy to get the better prosperity. He said he is very confident that he will win the NDC presidential ticket and then the national elections to bring the needed change Ghanaians are asking for prosperity.
Sylvester Mensah said this in the Talensi constituency of the Upper East Region after a closed-door meeting with delegates ahead of the party’s national conference to elect a flag bearer to lead the party in the 2020 general elections. Mr. Sylvester Mensah asked delegates to give him an irresistible victory, he said Ghanaians would be better off with a change of government, he also added that, the NPP government did not have good policies and programmes to deal with the problems of Ghanaians.
He further said that, the indefensible policies of the NPP government are proven not to be the solutions to the troubles of Ghanaians therefore there is a need for a change of government. He added that the NPP government has made unsuccessful this country that their policies are not clear and that is why they are seeing the free senior high education policy failing because they have not looked at infrastructure and cost implication that comes with it.
