According to researchers, eating foods like bacon and sausages on a regular basis may increase the risk of breast cancer. A review of studies found that women who consume processed meat in large amount they usually had a 9 per cent increased risk of the cancer as compared to those who ate little of it.
The study backs up earlier findings of the World Health Organization, which says processed meats is also the reason of cancer. Processed meat has been customized to any extend its shelf life or change the taste, usually by smoking, curing, or adding salt or preservatives to meat, bacon, sausages, hot dogs, salami, corned beef, beef jerky and ham are all processed meat.
Experts recommend some care regarding cancer and tell about the findings and say the actual risk for individual women is “very small”. In the UK, around fourteen out of every hundred women will find with breast cancer at some point in their lives. That means a 9 per cent increase in risk in this population would be expected to interpret into approximately one additional case of cancer in every hundred women. Cancer Research UK find out the about 23 per cent of breast cancers can be avoidable.
Cancer Research UK estimates that around 8 per cent of cases are caused by being overweight and obesity and an additional 8 per cent by alcohol. In research “international journal of cancer” authors say the link they found is only for processed meat, not red meat of this study, this study published in the International Journal of Cancer. The World Health Organization lists processed meat as carcinogenic, first and foremost because of evidence linking it to an increased risk of bowel cancer, while it says red meat is “probably carcinogenic”.
