Workers in the petroleum sector have welcomed the appointment of the new Energy Minister John Peter Amewu with a call on him to build stronger ties with the petroleum workers unions.
The workers cautioned the Minister against trusting the technical men working in the sector at all times alleging that they have misled former ministers.
Mr. Peter Amewu, who is a former Minister for Lands and Natural Resources took over as Energy Minister following the dismissal of Mr. Boakye Agyarko.
the petroleum workers described president decision to appoint Mr. Amewu as a great choice while commenting on the appointment of Mr. Peter Amewu.
They said, the former Lands and Natural Resources minister and Co-founder of Africa Center for Energy Policy (ACEP) is a team player and not a divisive person.
The workers advised, for him to succeed in this sector, we want him to bring all the sector unions under one platform where we can discuss issues with him. We will however caution him not to rely solely on technical men because they will deceive him.
They added, we’re the people who are on the grounds so he must listen to us more than the technical people and the management.
They also entreated the minister to continue the good work of his processor.
