Government of Ghana has been issued with an international accreditation licence. This licence will inspect, verify and certify fish in all forms before selling it on the international market.
Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH (DAKKS), internationally recognized accreditation body, has issued the licence, It was specifically issued to the Fish Inspection Department of the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA).
DAKKS has approved that the Fish Inspection Department of the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) is competent under the terms of internationally applicable standards as a Type A that it can carry out inspection of fish and fish products for exports before shipment.
The certificate was issued on June 29, 2018 and its validity will end in 2023. DAKKS being an national accreditation body of the Federal Republic of Germany, is legally responsible for the accreditation of conformity assessment bodies such as laboratories, certification bodies and inspection.
