The Supreme Court has rejected an interlocutory application that looked to prevent the President from selecting another Chairman of the Electoral Commission (EC).
The candidate, Fafali Nyonator, recorded the application in the wake of walking to the court with a case that the evacuation of previous EC Chairperson, Mrs Charlotte Osei, was unlawful.
As indicated by her, the Chief Justice board that prescribed the expulsion of Mrs Osei damaged the 1992 Constitution.
She, thusly, needed the court to stop the President from delegating another EC Chair until the last assurance of the substantive case.
The candidate especially needed the court to prevent the President from proceeding with the procedure that would affirm the arrangement of Mrs Jean Mensa as the new EC Chair.
