President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has recognized the huge efforts of the clergy in nation building and asked them to do more efforts. He said that the religious involvement of religious leaders in nation-building of any country could not be underestimated.
According to him, he is strengthened by prayers in delivering his permission and therefore he asked the clergy to make stronger their prayers for his government. As part of his three-day working visit to the Northern Region, the President attended Sunday mass at the Ola Catholic Cathedral in Tamale.
The Metropolitan Archbishop of the Our Lady of Annunciation (OLA), Roman Catholic Cathedral and most priests Philip Naameh also offered the service. President Nana Addo stated that he was there just to worship and to ask for more prayers to be able to fulfill his numerous campaign promises.
He said the district tours offered him the chance to work together with the waged people whose concerns will allow him to readjust and deliver his mandate. For the renovation of Church, he made a personal donation of Ghs 5,000. He described that Most Reverend Philip Naameh as an truthful man of God, he knew that and respected him for ages.
Most Reverend Philip Naameh implored the President and his appointees to be guided by the will of God in governing the nation. He recommended the President that not to be pushed by any of his appointees and do not take impious decisions. Most Reverend Philip Naameh underscored the need for the President to hold close the practice of general authority and continuously listen to God’s orders.
