VP Mahamudu Bawumia has guaranteed the Auditor General’s Department that its budgetary assignment will be discharged on time.
This affirmation was a piece of a vow by the Vice President to guarantee that the division does not do not have any basic assets to viably do its command.
Talking at an open address to stamp the Audit Service’s Accountability Week, Dr. Bawumia said similarly as government has been expanding its budgetary assignment as guaranteed, the division ought to expect a similar responsibility.
“I can guarantee you Mr. Reviewer General and the Audit Service board, that on our part as government, we would bend over backward to furnish you with the required assets for your work. We have officially shown this by expanding your financial plan towards merchandise and ventures from GHc14 million out of 2016 to GHc19 million of every 2017, and nearly multiplying it to GHc35 million of every 2018.”
“As we did in 2017, the legislature is focused on discharging all your spending reserves in 2018, and I do recognize that the postponements in the arrival of these assets will trade off your capacity to meet due dates for the accommodation of the Auditor General’s answer to Parliament,” Dr. Bawumia said.
Dr. Bawumia’s comments were in light of requests from the Auditor General’s office to guarantee that the budgetary allotment was convenient.
The Vice President said the requests from the workplace were heard “exceptionally well and obviously” by Abena Osei Asare, a Deputy Minister of Finance who was additionally at the occasion.

The Audit Service of Ghana is an established body under the heading of a seven (7) part administering board.
