A gunman, Stephen Paddock has opened fire towards an open-air music festival in Las Vegas. The mass shooting ended on the death of 58 people while hundreds injuries also reported.
Stephen Paddock, aged 64 was Nevada resident. He targeted the festival audience from the 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay Hotel. There were around 22,000 attendees at an open-air music festival.
The culprit also kills himself after the police stormed his room. The police have also taken 10 guns into their custody which they found from his room. It can call the worst mass shooting incident in US history.
US President Donald Trump condemned the terrible attack. He also expresses his warmest condolences and sympathies to the fatalities and their families. Sheriff Joe Lombardo called the attack as a “lone wolf” attack. He further said, ‘We have no idea what his belief system was.’
According to police statement, the shooting started at 22:08 local time. Paddock was living the hotel since 28 September. At-least 200 people reported injured in initial reports while fire officials figured the number of shifted injured as 406.
Trump directed about flags to be flown at half-staff in memory of victims. He also intended for travel to Las Vegas on Wednesday. There, he will also meet with law enforcement agencies and victims as well as their families.
The music festival started since Friday at several hotels on Las Vegas strip. Singer Jason Aldean rushed off the stage and was safe. However, he said ‘It hurts my heart that this would happen to anyone who was just coming out to enjoy what should have been a fun night.’
