DR Congo has lost $750 million as a part of revenues from Copper and Cobalt mining.
Global witness says that Congo lost a good part of revenues in years 2013-2105.
Corruption and mismanagement are the two underlining features which has resulted in this state level ‘loot’.
DR Congo is worlds largest Cobalt metal producer and also produces Copper in handsome amounts.
Revenues from these metals export should have resulted in eliminating poverty instead its lost in corruption practices.
Deep rooted corruption and mismanagement are considered main reasons behind loss of revenue ‘in the air’.
Being rich in mineral and metal resources DR Congo could have stood well above many African nations economically.
But not to be and its primarily because of corrupt practices undoing and ignoring the general population.
