Vodafone, Telecommunications Giant in Ghana has launched its fiber optic fixed broadband services in Kumasi.
The broadband service has been provided by the standard copper cable that will facilitate with ten times more speed for its customers using the broadband services in offices, schools and in homes as well.
This service was provided in the Greater Accra region with almost 1800 entities in seventy communities, before it came to the Ashanti region.
Even before the launch, Vodafone had served Daban, Daban new site, Atasomanso, Kromoase and Anyinam all linked to Kumasi with the service.
Fiber optic fixed broadband services’ official launching was held at Kwadaso Ohwimase. Representatives from the Ashanti Regional Coordinating council, traditional authorities and the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly attended the official launching ceremony.
Yolanda Zoleka Cuba, the Chief Executive Officer of Vodafone Ghana, spoke with the gathering that the vision of Vodafone Ghana is to leave a legacy in lighting digital revolution in Ghana.
Yolanda Zoleka Cuba explained that the company is trying to ensure that children and adults in homes, offices and schools are made up into a digitized Ecosystem. She stressed a development was essential to release and make the Ghanaian economy more efficient.
She pointed out; being Vodafone officials we want Ghana one day to be known as the best West African country for digitization in the continent.
