Rescuers have discovered 15 dead bodies from the ruins of landslide which buried a village in southwest China on Saturday.

A couple and their one month old baby were the only survivors. While 62 homes in Xinmo village buried under mud and rocks in Sichuan province.
The possible cause of landslide was heavy rain. It collapsed the side of mountain onto the riverside village in early morning, authorities informed. Rescue teams are anxiously searching for survivors stuck beneath rocks. President Xi Jinping also urged rescuers to do possible efforts.
Qiao Dashuai told media person that their baby had awakened them and they swept away by water when they run to the door of their home. His parents and other relatives are still missing.
According to Xinhua news agency, landslide blocked a 2km stretch of a river while local police put the blame on lack of vegetation that made the landslide worse.
Local officials further detailed that some 8m cu m of debris had been removed. While the roads in the county remain closed on Saturday for all traffic except emergency services. Landslides are a consistent hazard in mountainous regions of China, particularly during heavy rains.
Earlier in 2008, 87,000 people killed when an earthquake hit Wenchuan County in Sichuan province. One of the officials, Wang Yongbo also called it the biggest landslide in area since the Wenchuan earthquake.
