In Accra, Ghana is to host the 2017 edition of the IEEE-PES PowerAfrica Conference. Theme of the Conference is: “Harnessing Energy, Information & Communications Technology (ICT) for Affordable Electrification of Africa.’’
The conference to be held at the GIMPA Executive Conference Centre (GECC) from May 27 to 30, 2017, this 4 day event will be the first to be hosted by Ghana and will be attended by members and non-members of the Power and Energy Society,(PES) from all over continents.
Participants are expected from the academia, telecommunication companies, technology companies, electric utility companies and energy industries.
Local Chairman of IEEE-PES PowerAfrica, Dr Eric Kuada said, invitations have been forwarded to stakeholders, government agencies and target groups by the local organizing committee.
He added that this year’s conference would attribute presentations from International and national professionals on wide range of issues including power delivery regulations, investments and policies.
The conference will also feature a technical program consisting of workshops, tutorials, plenary sessions, poster and oral presentations; to highlight innovations and challenges facing the power and energy industry in Africa.
There will also an exhibition be held at the same time as part of the conference for interested companies and individuals to showcase their various achievements, initiatives, technologies, innovations, products and in the Power and Energy sectors.
