The U.S president Donald Trump is welcoming his Turkish counterpart for their first official face-to-face meeting at the White House.
The visit comes at a crucial time when U.S backing of Syrian Kurd’s discontent Turkey.
After Erdogan departed for U.S, the Turkish Prime minister Turkish prime minister Binali Yildrim told his party workers that Turkey is sincere in rooting out terrorism but U.S backing of Kurd’s is not acceptable by any means.
Turkey and U.S aren’t on the same page on Syrian issue since pentagon’s press release a few days back regarding a nod on formal ‘armed’ support to the Syrian Kurd’s.
Turkey considers Syrian Kurd’s as allied with terrorists to carryout terrorist activities both in Syria and Turkey.
U.S wants to topple Bashar UL Assad’s government in Syria whereas Iran and Russia are in support of Assad.
Donald Trump approved a move of arming Syrian Democratic Forces (comprising of Kurd’s and Arab fighters) to oust ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and Levant) fighters from Syria and regain lost territories.
Both groups are militants and responsible for Syrian civil crisis. Ironically both are overtly or subtly supported by global stake holders to attain specific targets in the region.
