Almost 1.5 million children are at risk of malnourishment
The UN’s children’s agency has issued a stark warning that South Sudan like food crises are affecting three other countries Nigeria, Somalia and Yemen.
The four countries have separate borders each and also different issues regarding why their people are suffering. Yemen is fragmenting by civil war while northern Nigeria and Somalia are struggling with Islamist insurrections.
Following its declaration of famine in South Sudan, UNICEF reveal that almost 1.5 million children are at risk of malnourishment.
UNICEF deputy director, Justin Forsyth told media that political failure could also blame for the situation. However, it could stop if aid agencies gave safe access to those in need.
