Former President tweeted on Friday, 10 February, ‘Democratic and Politics should be about service of people because this is a real life after the presidency, not a do or die affair.’
In another tweet, he said, ‘The inclination of new administrations forming in Africa to revoke all the agreements signed by past governments is not a good sign for developing country. It doesn’t predict well for business growth.’
According to him, to become President means to take the responsibility of whole nation and to serve them according to requirements.
Mr John Mahama served as a Vice President of Ghana from 2009 to the mid of 2012, and in 2012 he became President of Ghana after the death of sitting president Professor John Evans Atta Mills, after winning the 2012 presidential elections and governed the country from 2013 to 7 January 2017.
In 2016 Presidential elections, he contested for President Seat but could not retain the second term in government after losing polls to NPP’s Presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and handed over the power to Nana Addo on 7 January 2017.
