The captain of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan is still in doubt for the national team of Ghana, who are preparing for the semi-final clash against Cameroon on Thursday at the Franceville Stadium in Gabon.
Gyan got injured during Ghana’s third group game against Egypt and misses out the quarter-final game against DR Congo and still not given the green signal by the medical team.
According to the latest reports, the captain train with the squad on Tuesday and Wednesday and still doubtful for the semi-final clash.
Maxwell Konadu, the assistant coach of the team says that the medical staff will observe him critically after training and will decide about his inclusion into the squad.
However, Gyan has shown improvement and passes the fitness test on Wednesday and he is eager to play in Ghana’s crucial semi-final game on Thursday.
The team of doctors is working day and night to make sure the striker will improve his fitness, says the assistant coach of the Black Stars.
Gyan’s injury situation saddened all of us because he is our key player and one of the most experience players in the team.
Earlier, we all think that the injury is serious, but after the examination and all tests by the doctors indicate that it was not that serious.
Konadu added, “Currently, we cannot confirm whether he will play or not.”
