Andre Ayew, the Black Stars deputy skipper has revealed that they will use Wednesday’s clash with Pharaohs as a rehearsal for the quarter final stage.
Currently, the Black stars top the Group D with maximum wins and they have managed to reach the quarter finals with a game to spare. The West Ham United star insists their attention is now on their next stage of the tournament and not on the match against Egypt.
Previously, the teams clashed in a series of tense matches. Their most recent clash was the 2018 World Cup qualifier in Alexandria in which the Egypt’s side stood victorious but Ayew says Ghana is not looking for revenge but is looking at this match as an opportunity to prepare.
Andre Ayew says, “We don’t have any rivalry with Egypt. We set out to qualify and we have. We are going to try and prepare and play them. The difference between us and them now is we know we are in the quarter-finals. We are going to use their game to prepare for the quarter-finals”.
The Black Stars will maintain their position if it wins against Egypt in the Wednesdays match.
