Herve Renard says Ghana needs luck
According to Ghanaian former coach Black Stars have all that is needed to succeed in the tournament but bar luck which they’ve missing till now.
The French Coach – who began his career with Black Stars – says he has not forgotten the inception of his work. The team has ever since been his favorite and it appears that he feels jittery about the team.
In AFCON editions since 2006, Black have made it to the semi-final five times and two times in final – in 2010 and 2015 – where the victories slipped off their hands in the very last moments.
Renard pointed out that Ghana has always been wealthy with qualities but has been down on luck all the times. He added that Black Stars is a composition of good players with big ambitions.
In his perspective Ghana is always in last-four-teams-standing; hence, all they are missing out is confidence in themselves and bits of luck.
Nonetheless after 35 years – which restrained them from winning title – the team’s morale is high and hop into the tournament with determination.
Renard – coached Zambia and Cote d’Ivoire to win African Cups in 2012 and 2015 respectively – the only coach to achieve this triumph.
He recently mentioned his longing for Black Stars but eluded to say it explicitly.
