According to latest reports Edwin Gyimah was involved in a car accident. The Orlando Pirates defender was sitting behind the driver’s seat when the head on collision happen to occur.
Ghana international’s car was struck at about 3am on Monday. The 25 year old player’s car had a collision with a commercial cab. The location of the accident was the stretch between the AGA school and waterworks, in Obuasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
The Defender was driving a Hyundai Sonata Saloon car worth around $25,000. According to eye-witnesses Edwin was trying to overtake another car and got involved in the collision. The victims were taken to the AGA Health Foundation Hospital in the Obuasi Township where they were given medical assistance. Gyimah suffered cuts after the accident but opted to head to his hostel in a taxi instead of receiving medical aid as he wants to be included in the AFCON squad.
At the time when accident occurred the player was travelling with a female who has been identified as one Linda Owusu. Linda had to receive stitches for a cut around her head. Also the driver and passengers in the commercial cab were rushed to the AGA Health Foundation and are receiving treatment for injuries.
