The flag bearer of United Progressive Party (UPP), Akwasi Addai Odike has expressed that President Mahama himself is responsible for his defeat in the just ended elections.

According to him, the indecisive and inconsistent nature of President Mahama caused his defeat, adding during his leadership he has taken many wrong decisions which forced Ghanaians to vote against him and his government in the general elections.
He said outgoing President lost concentration in the run up to the polls thus his hostile stance. He further stated that Mahama was annoying people with his ‘unbearable comments’ and his decision of releasing Montie trio from the prison. Many people were standing against him at that time when he declared to release Montie 3.
In an interview on the radio station, he said, ‘Irregularities and anomalies were common in the outgoing Mahama-led government leading its defeat.’
No doubt, he said, Mahama-led administration has done many developmental projects in the country but the Ghanaians especially youth ask for jobs but NDC government was unable to provide jobs to all Ghanaians. Unemployment was the major challenge confronting people during Mahama’s period.
After the disqualification of UPP, Addai Odike endorsed President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo and said NPP has development agenda and promised Ghanaians to give them jobs.
