Former Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan has applauded outgoing President of Ghana, Mr Mahama for conceding defeat in just ended Presidential elections 2016.

The former Nigerian leader lost elections in 2015; he was defeated by the Muhammadu Buhari. He said Mahama has delivered his part very well.
President Mahama was defeated by the Nana Akufo-Addo, flag bearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party in the just ended elections 2016.
Mahama, who was the presidential aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), called Nana Akufo-Addo and congratulated him on his victory before the announcement of the poll results by the Electoral Commission.
Goodluck Jonathan said, ‘I am very glad that Mahama has respected the outcomes of the elections and has shown his level of maturity and high patriotism by conceding defeat.’
However, he encouraged the President-elect to recognize the accomplishments of the Mahama-led government as he accepts power.
He said, ‘It is not your defeat. Some may think that Mahama has lost today but no he has not lost. He has got an eternal honor.’
Moreover, he also congratulated President elect Nana Akufo-Addo for his immense victory and advised him to work for the unity of the people and start working for the development of this nation.
