Head of the Electoral Commission (EC), Mrs Charlotte Osei says the electorates turnout for the early voting exercise in the general elections lived up to its expectations regardless of confronting difficulties.

The problems that were seen during the December 1 special voting exercise were, security agencies members turned away subsequent to casting their votes because of not including their details on the voter roll constrained the administration body to open another window for the security staff to practice their establishment on last Sunday.
However, EC Chair explained that most of the elements that have caused the major problems were not from their side. EC has worked best to ensure challenge-free elections.
In the course of the most recent days, there were objections from security staff about their incapability to find their names on the voting lists. It is to clarify that this special voting is for the staff members of the Electoral Commission, journalists and security officers who are to be conveyed outside their residential areas on Election Day. This exercise is not for all staff members of the commission.
Total 101,014 eligible voters who make 79.29% of an expected 127, 396 come up at the end of general elections 2016 early voting exercise.
