President John Mahama and former President JJ Rawlings
Ghana’s President John Mahama has expressed his thankfulness to former President JJ Rawlings for his guidance and encouragement over the last four years.
Addressing to a final rally of the governing party in Accra, Mr. Mahama said that Mr. Rawlings encouragement has brought me at my present position. Over the last four years I have been the president of Ghana and I have benefited from his advice. For all that I am grateful to him.
I promised to be father of all Ghanaians. We will use the power of government to create better opportunities for the private sector. I will bring all together and not split them apart. We also respectfully ask for your mandate to complete the journey. I can proudly claim that in government we have made you honored with our achievements. At the same time we have not been satisfied. We have covered these elections as we are in opposition.
President Mahama also blamed the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) of planning to foment distress in Wednesday’s elections.
There are some political forces that are staging incidents intentionally. These are reporting incorrectly to the international communities and pursuing to create chaos. But God will not let their plans to be successful, he stated.
