Mr Seth Terkper, Finance Minister has defended the management of the government of economy. He said there have been significant improvements in the national economy.
Finance Minister said main economic policy decisions together with specific investments in the power sector which he said prevented Ghana from descending into a recession.
Ghana has gone through serious economic challenges in the last three years, which forced administration to resort to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for help.
The New Patriotic Party argued that economy of Ghana has collapsed making it difficult for Ghanaians to survive.
Seth Terkper said on Friday talking to media that he called the cautious management of the economy in Ghana.
He added, during last 8 years there were investments that we significantly made in oil and gas. For example the Atuabo gas processing plant which we all agree came in handy; the situation with dumsor would have been poorer if we didn’t have Atuabo Gas plant. It would have been worse if we were flaring the jubilee gas.
He continued that this we got a loan and pipelines after that we put a plant and we are processing our own gas. That is the first example. Then we started the export, based on those mechanisms the economy grew, so you can see again specific action.
