The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has altered the exceptional voting exercise for the first of December, 2016, in front of the fundamental decision on December 7.
This was declared by the Chair of the EC, Charlotte Osei, at an Inter Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting on Friday October 28 in Accra. The unique voting will include faculty of the Ghana Police Service, the Ghana Armed Forces, and other significant bodies, will’s identity performing key parts upon the arrival of the fundamental races.
The practice is intended to forestall such staff, whose administrations will be required on voting day, from being disappointed amid the general race.
Class91.3FM’s Paa Kwesi-Parker Wilson reported the EC Chair declaring the date at the IPAC meeting, which occurred couple of hours after an Accra High Court had ruled against the EC for a situation brought before it by the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) over the preclusion of its banner conveyor from the presidential decisions.
Talking in a meeting with Parker Wilson after the IPAC meeting, the National Chairman of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah, said: “Today, the IPAC meeting was exceptionally genial. There were no disputes that much. We have made recommendations to the Electoral Commission.”
