USAID, The United States Agency for International Development and the Ghana Grains Council (GGC) held the 6th annual Pre-harvest Agribusiness Forum on Thursday, October 20.
Annual Pre-harvest Agribusiness Forum brought together more than 1,000 farmers, buyers, processors, equipment dealers, financial institution, transporters and others who work in agriculture and agribusiness.
The aim of the annual event is to promote long-term business relationships, the exchange of ideas and discussions to make economic growth in agriculture sector of the country.
The Forum featured a conference, an exhibition, and break-out sessions centered on this year’s theme of ‘Profiting Together’. The theme pointed out the importance of establishing sustainable business relationships between farmers and businesses.
USAID/Ghana Deputy Mission Director Steven Hendrix said, those who were present at the event discussed their expectations for the coming 2016 production season, networked, and shared best practices in agricultural and farming business operations in Ghana.
The Forum advances goals of the USAID of attracting investment and increasing food security in northern Ghana.
