The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has showed its sympathies with the 12 presidential aspirants whose candidatures were ineligible by the Electoral Commission (EC).
The party in a report signed by the Chairperson, Legal and Constitutional Committee, Prof. Mike Oquaye said that in as much as we agree that the correct things be complete in the management of our elections, we express our sympathies with the candidates whose nominations have been discarded despite their hard work to meet the requirements of the law.
The party more expressed hope that any official processes that would arise out of the disqualification would be resolved expeditiously.
In the statement said, the consolidation of Ghanaian democracy requires that principles of justice and equality govern all aspects of our electoral procedure.
