GCB Bank Limited has said it will promote a very close relationship with its SME customers through its appointed SME Segment Specialists. It will help grow businesses across Ghana.
These Segment specialists have been equipped and authorized to ensure that the SME sector enjoys expert banking services through proactive support.
Mr. Ernest Agbesi, Managing Director of GCB said this when in Accra he opened the GCB SME 2016 Forum.
Theme of the forum was: “Sustaining SME Opportunities in Today’s Market”, more than two hundred and fifty participants from various sectors of business such as Commerce, Hospitality, Manufacturing, Services and Agriculture attended the forum.
Mr. Agbesi said show of the GCB to support to SMEs is because of their dissimilar role as a recognized locomotive of growth in the economy of Ghana.
SMEs are considered to contribute about 70 percent of GDP and account of Ghana for 85 percent of manufacturing employment as well as 75 percent of employment in general, making SMEs enormously important to the national economy.
Mr. Ernest Agbesi said GCB as the nation’s largest Bank, has the growth and development of local business at the core of its strategy and will ensure the growth and success of SMEs and the informal sector for the good of the national economy.
Mr. Agbesi added that this underlines our strong commitment to inject life into SMEs with the right mix of services and products.
