
Goldstar Airline
A wholly owned airline of Ghana Goldstar Air has bought 3 Boeing aircrafts to begin operations.
Chief Executive Officer of the airline Mr. Eric Bannerman said the aircrafts comprises Boeing 737 and 767,777.
The French based aircrafts now will be identified in Ghanaian colors after getting clearance from the Ghana civil aviation authority (GCAA) to begin their operations.
The acquirement financed by the aircrafts owners has flexible terms where Goldstar Air has to complete its payment arrangements in two years.
The Chief Executive Officer said while talking to media, there are extra aircrafts waiting in the wings to be purchase and will be taken in anytime demand sky rockets.
The Boeing 767 and 777,wide body aircrafts will pursue the long haul routes such as London, Baltimore Washington, Guangzhou and Dubai, with the Boeing 737 being arranged to pursue on the West Africa routes including Abidjan, Lagos, Monrovia, Abuja, Freetown, Conakry, Banjul and Dakar.
Mr. Bannerman confirmed that, almost 90 % of the work is done and inspection fee have already been paid, only 10 % is pending for the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority to grant the license and go with us for the inspection of the aircrafts.
He also said that the cabin crew screening will kick-start next month, adding that this process will provide employment possibilities to the people in Ghana also living abroad.
