Dr. Mensa Otabil
Former Principal of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Prof. Stephen Adei speaks he has strong belief that Ghana would have far established if the country could claim of 100 people of Pastor Mensah Otabil’s type.
According to him, the kind of development the famous Pastor and Chancellor of the Central University has confidentially spearheaded in the field of business and education sectors is unmatched.
Prof. Stephen Adei was talking at a Lecture at the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Achimota, Logos Congregation, as part of the Church’s 50th-anniversary celebration which will be climaxed on Sunday, July 31, on the theme, “The Role of the Church in the political freedom of the country.”
Pastor Otabil has been criticized some times by members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) containing the party’s deputy General Secretary Koku Anyidoho and ministers and who are of the opinion that the man of God’s statements, actions and inactions lean towards to favour the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
However, Prof. Stephen Adei noted that though the Bible speaks “Indeed, all who wish to live holy lives in Christ Jesus will be mistreated” 2 Tim.3: 12, Pastor Mensah Otabil must not come under attack from young men in politics who have not getting anything significant in life.
Thus, “We should not permit young men who have never worked till their political appointment to insult anybody let unaccompanied Pastor Mensah Otabil because of politics.
So, this is someone who is idealistic and has acted on his several ideas to the benefit of this country. Such a person must be celebrated and not be killed on the platform of politics by young people who would have been nobody had it not been politics.”
