Two new Sonic games announced by Sega
At the San Diego Comic-Con a shindig last night was held by Sega in honor of the 25th anniversary of Sonic, and amid chilli dogs it found the right time to reveal two new games. The most exciting of these is Sonic Mania, a remix/mashup/ reimagining of the first three games, with additional zones and new moves. Christian Whitehead the fangame developer of Sonic, retro specialists Pagodawest Games and Headcannon Games are getting together for the joint venture, which might in the end, is what Sonic fans have been appealing for all these years?
Sonic Mania will be presented to PC and current-gen consoles maybe sometime in spring 2017.
In order to even out the cosmos, to balance light with darkness, Sega declared another Sonic game at the event: a new, 3D title that seems to be whole lot like Sonic Generations. It has been named as Project Sonic, it is quite enough for now, and it is by original Sonic Team.
This mainly looks like a sequel to Sonic Generations (because of the presence of both Douchebag Sonic and Classic Sonic), and the reaction to that was more enthusiastic than for the other 3D Sonics, so who knows, it might be alright.
Project Sonic will be released “Holiday 2017”.
