Internet of Things workshop held by Vodafone Ghana
CIMG Telecom Company of the Year, Vodafone Ghana arranged a one-day ‘Internet of Things’ (IoT) workshop, representing its IoT services in transport, health, utilities, logistics, banking and security and in order to showcase the readiness of Vodafone for new frontiers in the technology space.
Internet of Things basically aids devices and machines to connect to each other and communicate, providing with it a transformational tool on how people set their lives and businesses. Vodafone IoT service covers some of the most vital areas of the economy counting transport, health, banking, logistics, security and utilities. Remarking on the new chances Ghana is yet to experience in the IoT market, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Machina Research, Matt Hatton stated that the IoT service of Vodafone Ghana provides businesses with centrally presented secure self-service which supplies authentic and access control, quite near to real-time usage, and management of any global SIM. Their solutions assure to supply usage at ‘near’ real time –which means that you will be provided that information in 1/10th of milliseconds. That is a big lifesaving. Mr. Hatton further said that businesses can now manage four networks on only one Vodafone SIM with the IoT services by Vodafone Ghana.
He furthermore stated that this is certainly the beginning of a revolution that would definitely help companies in the country to step ahead to the next level of performance and make them more results-oriented. The world of work as we know now days will never be the same again and organizations that do not succeed to implement such technologies would ultimately be left behind in the competitive game.
Speaking to business owners, developers, experts and decision makers, Head of Vodafone Business Solutions, Angela Mensah Bonsu, stated that IoT is cementing Vodafone’s offering in Ghana, surpassing its deliverables across multiple and varied sectors in Ghana. She further added that as a clear market leader in the Enterprise space in telecommunications sector of Ghana, they cannot rest on our achievements – they wish to further establish this position and continue to the be the leaders and IoT will help them in this direction.
Internationally, Vodafone is ranked the best in M2M with about 21.5 million SIMs presently connecting assets in many industries in the world.
