The intense controversy following plans by government to privatize the Electricity Company of Ghana is far from over.
In the latest move to defend the act, Minister of Finance Seth Terkper has exposed that the privatization of the power supplier will inure to the benefit of the nation and therefore insist there is no turning back.
Staff of the company are conflicting to the judgement, but Mr. Tekper revealed that government will follow through its plans of allowing private contribution in some aspect of the Electricity Company of Ghana.
Talking with media, he said the move is aimed at strengthening the Electricity Company of Ghana and the Northern Electricity Distribution Company.
“So it is also about locating, it’s not just about current matters that are a wider contest. Debates have been quite productive up to this point,” Seth Terkper said
