Rev. Fitzgerald Odonkor, the CEO of Capital Bank Ghana, has cautioned entrepreneurs to be disciplined and visionary and also have strong certainty as well as strong networking skills in order to succeed in business.
Ideas for Future Africa organized the maiden edition of the ‘Idea Factory Africa Conference, Rev. Odonkor, said while speaking to the conference, though resources play an integral part in entrepreneurial success, the lack of qualities such as sound vision and detail plan will leave the resources useless.
He said, although many entrepreneurs have been able to funding source for various projects, these projects have collapsed as a result of the lack of qualities like persistence and discipline.
The focus of the presentation was such as starting a business – pertinent issues to be considered- primary issues needed to appraise an idea, and issues related to business growth and funding.
The Capital Bank CEO said on starting a business one needs to be stubborn to weather the psychological and social pressures generally used by family and friends.
He said, sometimes friends and family will pressurize you to leave your dreams and look for regular jobs especially at the early stages when things are a bit difficult.
However, you must be focused and resolute to endure these pressures because entrepreneurship is about conviction and vision.
