Rendering to the President John Mahama, the open and clear approach his government has accepted in the fight against corruption has visible the government to unjustified attacks from Ghanaians.
Speaking some Ghanaians resident in the UK in his current visit there, Mr. John Mahama said some Ghanaians are fond of blaming government officials of corruption without proof.
“…Observation can be heightened because it is being argued long in the media. And When you have a nation like Ghana where everybody is free to confer corruption, if you wake up and you are angry with your husband or wife you take it out on the President, misuse him on the radio, when you have that kind of culture, there are all kinds of matters that come up,” he stated.
He added: “And then we have the calculation of social media, because of the secrecy, people just fix some obvious lies and put it on WhatsApp. And sometimes they are so original and I said these people the way they are creative if they channel this originality into lucrative things, Ghana would not be where it is. They would create something about you and if it is not because I am myself and I know that it is not true anyone who sees it would trust it.
“We have all that fluctuating in the system and all that so it heightens people’s opinion about corruption. And so it is easy to say that there is more corruption in this government than in that regime, where would contrast of between corruptions take us, it won’t take us anywhere.”
