Akwasi Addai Odike, flag bearer of the United Progressive Party (UPP), has confirmed that it is unnecessary for political parties to have physical structures as constituency party offices in current times.
The Electoral Commission (EC) has served observe it will ban political parties which have failed to meet the requirements of the political party’s law, together with provision of party offices at the national, according to the constituency and regional levels.
But, Akwasi Addai Odike told Lantam Papanko on the Show that he is not perturbed by the threat from the Electoral Commission (EC).
A number of the political parties, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and including the New Patriotic Party (NPP) do not have functional constituency offices themselves. They have painted gates of structures that are not functional and disagree with them at their offices”, he assumed.
According to his opinions, political party meetings could be held online and via social media platforms in modern times wondering why the Electoral Commission (EC) is bent on enforcing a law that is in difference with modern trends.
He also said that, we can hold meetings online and other platforms, including Social media. In the contemporary business environment, it’s unnecessary having physical offices.
