Legendary Highlife artist, Benjamin Kofi Yankson, popularly known as Paapa Yankson was visited by the first vice Chairperson of Ghana Music Rights Organization on Thursday and he donated some amount to the singer due to his ailment. The amount is not revealed yet.
The ‘Okukuseku’ singer was confined to bed from long time but he doesn’t inform anybody.
First Vice Chairman GHAMPRO, Bandex, in private life known as Ahmed Banda visited the singer at his Dansoman residence for aiding him.
Bandex also showed madness at the artist for not informing the music rights association about his sickness at the early stage. According to Chairman of association, the welfare committee of GHAMRO was set up for the rights of musicians and purposes like this, “so musicians should not waste time in calling on us when the need arises.”
He included that despite the fact that they got information about his sickness in early morning, Thursday they saw the need to help musician before things deteriorate, including, “I never knew the severe circumstance resembled this by any means. You ought to have informed organization when it began on since that we are there for helping you.”
Paapa Yankson explained him that why he informed the organization late, because musician thought he could arrange money and everything by himself.
Furthermore, musician expressed that “I didn’t even tell anyone about my illness since I thought individuals will think I need to bait you for financial support. Since you have come to see my ill condition, you can tell others about my sickness. If I told them, they would never believe me.”
