Thousands of grievers from all over the country gathered on Saturday at the National Police Training School in Accra, for the final funeral rites of the late DCOP Angwubutoge Awuni, former Eastern Regional Police commander of Accra.
Late DCOP Angwubutoge Awuni, died at the Police Hospital after a short illness, last month.
According the media reports, the service was attended by officers from all over the Ghana, government agents as well as the Eastern Regional Minister, Mavis Frimpong, and others who along with the Inspector General of Police; John Kudalor to described a life well lived.
Addressing to the media, Supt. Cephas Arthur, the Public Relations Officer for the Ghana Police Service stated that the late Commander was as an inspiration to many others.
According one of his colleague, “I took inspiration from my boss and he was always on hand to give me energy talks, to commend me and also to correct me. As he gone, am going to be the failure for it.
Other coworkers also present at the service said the late DCOP Angwubutoge Awuni as not only an honest person but someone who fair and disciplined. The late Police Commander was inspired by many outsiders in the police service for his firmness and hard-work.
