Mr. Joseph Kwasi Holison, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Director of the YEA that the Youth and Employment Agency, is to roll out 13 additional modules to create employment opportunities for the teeming unemployed youth in Ghana.
Youth in Coastal Sanitation, Community Health Workers, , Afforestation, AgricultureElectronic, Health, Prisons, Fire Service, Disabilities and teaching, among other components are the additional modules anticipated to be rolled out by the middle of the year.
The Brong-Ahafo Regional Director of the YEA Mr. Joseph Kwasi Holison, revealed this at a ceremony to enroll 400 trainees into the Community Policing Assistant Module of the Agency in Sunyani.
There wese selected trainees, among them 5,000 young people drawn from the 27 Municipal and District Assemblies in the Brong-Ahafo Region who applied for admission.
The selected people would have training at the Kumasi Police Depot and would support the Police in the various districts in crime fighting on completion.
Joseph Kwasi Holison said that the new YEA was expected to offer employment opportunities for more than 100,000 young people in Ghana.
He recommended the beneficiaries to be disciplined and obedient to enable them go through the restricted training successfully to benefits society as they go out to serve.
Formerly known as the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA), Parliament recently passed the YEA Act to help reduce youth unemployment in Ghana.
