The youth wing of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) has invited a planned protest which was scheduled for Monday, March 7, 2016.
The protest was to force the government to release what they assertion are the party’s resources which were appropriated after the revolution of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
Speaking to the media, the National Youth Organizer of the party, Ernesto Yeboah, described that the protest was called off following an instruction from the party’s National Chairman.
He further added, as the commander in-chief for the youth group of the Convention People’s Party, I have invited the nationwide post for the instant release of all our confiscated properties on the demands of the chairman and leader of our party.
Though Ernesto told “we are not pleased with that decision,” he alleged they respect the call from their Chairman.
We’d have desired that the party planned a more fundamental face that the party looked more dependent and we would stand bravely to demand our rights. Because history says us that nobody has had his or moralities given to them on a silver platter or on the foundation that they simply asked for it.
But it has always been the circumstance that it was only approved after they have struggled for it. But our chairman and leader considers differently and we respect his decision, he said.
President Mahama last year pledged to release the assets when some CPP administrators paid a courtesy call on him but that promise is yet to be fulfilled.
