It’s very nerve wrecking when you have an interview for a job that you really want. Everything from your clothes to your first impression to your interview start to take a toll on you as time approaches. Since you only get one chance to make your first impression, it is crucial to make it well enough that you get appointed. The first thing that makes up your impression to your superiors is the way you have dressed up and look. It is important to look clean, professional and at your best at your interview. 1. Wash up properly:
It is a must that you have a good hygiene to show to your superiors. Take a shower and shampoo your hair properly before going for your interview. If you look unshowered and dirty, it surely would not make an impression, you don’t want to look all grimy and sloppy. Take a lengthy, detailed shower before getting ready. Women can wear any light manicure or light shaded nail color, but avoid loud dark colors. Make sure the underside of your hands are clean and dry. 5. Dress appropriately:
You must dress appropriately according to the professional environment and the job you are going for. If it’s something related to business, finance, marketing or any traditional office, you must dress up in a way that shows that you fit in with the office environment and your position. For men, a dark colored suit, long sleeved shirt, formal shoes and a briefcase will do. Women can dress up in a suit that includes a skirt, pantyhose and nice conservative shoes. Avoid wearing anything too flashy.

For casual environment, a simple fitted cotton shirt that is ironed well and wrinkle free will do. However, avoid wearing too worn-out clothes.
When choosing pants for a professional attire, go for something that fits you well is long enough and that your ankles are not peeking out of your pants. The color of your pants and sweater should be similar. Or match closely. Avoid wearing jeans, especially in the day of your interview. Never wear shorts to work or to your interview.
Wear nice polished black or brown shoes, dress shoes like leather business shoes or classic loafers are the safest bet. Under no circumstances, wear flip flops, no matter how casual the culture is.
