2. Drink up:
Staying away from water doesn’t mean that you have to limit your intake as well. In fact the more you drink the more it will help your nails, hair and skin. Keep hydrated and drink up as much as you can. Beauty from the outside always starts from taking care of your beauty inside, so drink loads and loads of water. Eat protein rich diet.
3. Keep your nails short in the beginning:
If you are having problem growing your nails, because they are weak and brittle then it is best that you keep them short in the beginning as you build up their strength. Eat the right diet and make up a care routine, when you feel like your nails have developed enough strength that they don’t bend, peel or split, then it’s time to start working on your actual mission, that is start growing them.
4. Set up your nail care routine:
If you are serious about growing your nails, then it is best to set up a care routine for them and follow it every day. It must include rubbing cuticle oil and hand cream into your nails and hands. Dry cuticle and skin can lead to bigger problems like chronicle cuticle picking and nail peeling, so it is best to moisturize your skin and nails with cuticle oil and cream on a daily basis especially after washing your hands.
5. Try oil soak:
A lot of people claim that after using nail oil to soak their nails have grown quite a bit. It does not have to be anything fancy; simply olive oil, coconut oil or almond oil or any other oil of your choice can help. Just soak your nails in the oil for about 10 minutes and rub it gently onto the nail bed afterwards to allow deep penetration. It helps moisturize, hydrate and make them strong.
6. Say no to Alcohol based hand sanitizers:
Say a big NO to alcohol based hand sanitizers, as they are especially drying out to hands and nails. Wash your hands with any gentle hydrating soap and follow up by using hand cream and cuticle oil.
7. Stay away from chemicals:
Stay away from chemicals like detergents, cleaning and washing conditioners, etc, these contain chemicals which can be very damaging to your nails. Wear gloves when performing home chores and always end up moisturizing your hands.
8. Avoid Acetone containing Nail polish removers:
Nail polish removers contain Acetone mostly, but it is best avoided as it also damages and weakens your nails. Make your nail polish last longer by applying a basecoat and a top coat and using less of removers. If you have to use it, get the one without acetone.
9. Keep basecoat on:
Always keep your base coat with you, coat it over your nails every few days as it also provides an extra layer on your nails and protects them from too much damage.
Take a breather from too harsh nail colors and removers and let your nails breathe. Give them some time at least 3 months before giving up. Follow above mentioned tips and show off your absolutely fantastic nail art and manicures to the world!
