The Media houses running advertisements on unlicensed products have given prosecution notices by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA).
It is said that this process has already been set up by an inter-agency committee.
Talking to Media today, the Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, Hudu Mogtari has said that the committee has among its membership judges, security agencies, National Security operatives, officers of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) and others from the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
Mr. Mogtari revealed that they have been educating media houses on the law of what they can and cannot advertise.
In past, some presenters had been rounded up for presenting banned products but there was public uproar against the Authority, he said.
Moreover, Mr Mogtari pleaded that they expect the general public to be behind them when they take action against such people.
The FDA manager said officers have been moving from one market to another on a daily basis with the police to take hold of products containing the cancerous substance after the recent contamination of palm oil with Sudan IV dye.
22 traders have been arrested already over the issue.
Mr Mogtari said the state of affairs has affected the international repute of Ghana as the objections about the cancerous substances first came from Ghanaians abroad.
