On Thursday, Facebook enhanced its search capabilities to let people find and plunge into conversations about news publicly shared on social media.
Tom Stocky, vice president of search, stated in a blog post that, they are updating Facebook Search so that users can find out what the world is saying about topics that matter to them.
People often turn to Facebook to see how their friends and family are reacting to something that happens in the world.
Facebook reveals that, the public conversations on the same subjects would be accessible to the users.
When users type in the search box, they will see the timely, personalized suggestions, highlighting things that are happening at that moment, and the most recent public posts related to their search in addition to those from friends would be shown to users.
Tom Stocky stated that, there is also the option of finding the public posts linked with a particular link via a single click, and to see an combined summary of sentiment.
According to the Tom Stocky, the update rolled out Thursday in US English to Facebook applications personalized for Apple or Android-powered mobile devices as well as for the social network from desktop computer browsers.
